Moving to our new apartment was quite a feat. With the help of family we were able to accomplish it and still hold our sanity. Leaving the night of my graduation we headed up to Logan to spend the night at the Moss's residence. Ryan's good friend was getting married at nine in the morning so we decided to split our move up into two days so we could go to the sealing. Mike and Michelle were kind enough to set up a bed for us so when we got there, really early in the morning, we were able to crash!
We woke up early changed our oil, got ready and headed to the Logan temple. The ceremony was beautiful and we are so happy for Brady Rowser and his new wife! We were on the freeway heading to Spokane at 9:45 am on August 14th.
The drive was long, quick, comfortable, uncomfortable, boring and fun all at the same time. With just the two of us we take a couple of gas and bathroom breaks but we actually get to our destinations fairly quickly. We arrived at our new apartment at the Big Trout Lodge in the evening where we met up with Ryan's parents. They were extremely kind to help us move by taking up the uhual for us so we could go to Brady's wedding.
We had the help of the Elder's Quorum in unloading all of our stuff which made it really fast to get all of our belongings to the third floor of our apartment. They even went the extra mile and hauled my piano up the flights of stairs! I will admit that it made me nervous and I continuously thought of one of them losing their grip and having my piano roll recklessly down the flights of stairs only to end in a pile of rubble at the bottom! Needless to say they succeeded in getting the piano safely in my apartment, *phew*!
Here is a picture of our apartment right after we got everything moved in. It makes me tired looking at all of those boxes. I am glad we are all moved in!
The next day after church. Everyone was pretty tired. I don't remember who Dad is talking to but he is using his old phone while Ryan plays with his new i-phone :)
Ryan putting together our bookshelf. It's funny because I took a picture of him just looking at me and smiling but when he saw it he told me to take another one of him actually working on the bookshelf. He is definitely my handy man :)
As we were getting ready to move out here I told Ryan that I wanted a piano. I was going to have a lot of free time since Ryan was going to be busy doing school; but when it came right down to it we couldn't afford one. I was talking with mom and she told me to start praying that one would be given to me (like what happened to my sister Ann-Marie). Well, I took her advice. Lo and behold a little while later I was talking to a co-worker of mine who was getting married. She told me that she had a piano and she was marrying someone who already had one. She said if I could move it, it was mine! She gave me her piano! I was beside myself! I was ecstatic that I would finally be the owner of such an instrument. It is a gorgeous! It's old and had to be tuned a couple of times but I play my piano everyday and love it! With all of my heart I love it!
Now on to the apartment. Here is the entryway leading into our apartment. The rest of the pictures are pretty self explanatory. (We have a little coat closet).
Again, we don't have a table so we use the bar to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To the right of the kitchen you can see an opening. That is where we have our washer and dryer and also a little computer desk.
I love our huge windows! It makes our apartment really bright and light! Our balcony has a great view. Since we are on the third floor we can see past the other apartment buildings and on into the mountains covered in pine trees. The playground is also right outside our apartment. It's fun to see the little kids playing outside even though it gets kind of loud at times.
I can't bare having the microwave take up so much counter space so we have put it on our fridge. Even though I don't really reach, it has worked fine. I just have to have Ryan view the numbers or else I get a chair and hope and I don't spill the food as I take it in and out.

Karen! What a cute apartment! :) The green outside your windows make me miss Pennsylvania.
Are you able to play your piano without neighbors telling you it's too loud?
I'm so glad you posted pictures. :D
You definitely have a hallway.
yay! your place looks so nice! I'm so happy everything's working out so well- especially the piano! So exciting! Sad you're not here though.
