Aside from Christmas and Thanksgiving, Halloween is undoubtedly Ryan's favorite holiday. I don't particularly love the holiday myself but I do enjoy seeing Ryan get excited over the little things that make this time of year so "spooky". He gets excited about the weather changing temperatures, the 'season' of college football, the Halloween decorations, the scary movies, and the carving of pumpkins. Every year in a low and spooky voice he chants this little song, "This is Halloween, this is Halloween, this is Halloween, ooo ooo ooo, this is Halloween." He is so endearing and cute. We love decorating with the items you can get really cheap but are still kind of cute. Since we have a low budget, a very low budget we pride ourselves in the things we find and have collected throughout the years. Here are some of our favorites...
a glow in the dark skeleton.

Mr. Scarecrow
the decorations we made last year. We love them. We made them for a family home evening out of construction paper then went and got them laminated so that they will last.
"Mr. Bones" yes indeed, he sure does glow in the dark. I couldn't get a good picture of when he was glowing though.
I don't do well with scary movies...like at all. I hardly ever watch them. For whatever reason, surprise surprise Ryan loves them! So, to accommodate I can semi handle M. Night Shyamalan's movies which means, we watch them. We have watched Signs, The Village and are getting ready to watch Sixth Sense. It's kind of fun because I jump at ridiculous parts which makes Ryan jump. He gets nervous during the movie because he is anticipating when I am going to jump. I tell him that I am helping to make his scary movie watching even more scary because even though he has seen the movie before, he still may jump at parts he wasn't even expecting to jump at.
This is the sign that Ryan sees and says, "This is Halloween, this is Halloween, this is Halloween."
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Karen! Remember when we saw The Grudge? And when we came home Jane was in the back of the apartment, but wouldn't answer when we called her name. We were sooooo scared! I miss you!
I hate scary movies, too. Brady had to tell me every part of "The Village" plot before I would watch it with him.
My favorite is the purple ghost.
Karen, congrats on the move! Such an adventure. When are you guys headed back this way? Are you coming for the holidays?
